Kingmakers release date
There isn’t one. The Steam page reads Coming soon, and the most recent line from the publisher says Early Access is on the way without putting a day, a month or a year on it. Kingmakers has been given four release windows before, and all four passed.

Read in order, this is why a new date gets a cautious reception. Each card holds the sentence the studio or publisher published at the time, and what became of it.
One of those windows was printed on a trailer, which is still up on the official channel:

Why the studio has not named a new one
Asked on the Steam forum, the game director gave the reason directly: after a missed date, the studio would rather say nothing than say something it might have to take back. Whether the long quiet after the missed date meant the game was in trouble is answered on what happened to Kingmakers.
“We don’t want to say a date that we aren’t 100% confident about, but we also don’t want to have to compromise the quality of the game to hit some date that we list.”

The nearest thing to a timeframe
One reply narrows it without naming a date. A player on the forum guessed at a late 2027 or even 2028 release, and the game director answered:
“It will be sooner than that.”
That is a personal forum answer, not an announcement, and it rules out only the guess it was answering. No official replacement date has been published.
What is coming before a date, as far as anyone has said
Two things have been announced without dates of their own. The first has a working button: the Steam playtest, where you can request a place today, covered on the Kingmakers playtest page. The second is a demo built around the first mission, described on the Kingmakers demo page. Neither has been described as a step that has to happen before Early Access, so treat them as signs of progress rather than a countdown.
When the date does arrive, it will be for Steam Early Access on PC. What that first release is meant to contain is on what Kingmakers Early Access includes; how long it stays in Early Access has not been set.
